Ferrywallah

Ferrywallah selling flutes in front of Domino's... musical pizzas?

Look into my eyes

Look into my eyes... you will see... what you mean to me... ( atasty source of food-milk, fish & mice)
Pardon the darkness. Took the photo in evening

Ancestor

Man's ancestor looking into the far future, while wringing hands on humanity's present condition.

Aila

Here are some photographs I had taken on the day after Aila struck West Bengal (25th May, 09).
Udayan Housing Complex is the place where my grandparents live Udayan Housing Complex - broken tree pots.
Udayan Housing Complex - fallen jamruls (what a waste of food)
Deshapriya Park ex-hoarding (as the hoarding as already been destroyed by Aila)

Deshapriya Park - well a small tree trunk- was struck by the vibrant colours against the muddy soil.

Apollo Hospital, Deshapriya Park - how might trees fall & how insignificant we are in the universe.

Khidderpore road, infront of St. Thomas' Girls' School - taken during Aila in the afternoon in front of my alma mater from the window of my house. :)

Kasba connector - was struck by the spider looking fallen tree roots- creepy (not for the archanophobics)!

Kasba connector - fallen tree laid parallel to the footpath- afain the roots reminded me od a spider.

Colours

Took this picture in Kidderpore Bbazar, where the man is asking for alms while showing off his cow and appealing to Hindu sentiments. Loved the colours of the cow's cloak (typical bright Indian)

transparency

So many bottles and not even one has water. You can see the different brands of packaged drinking water and cold drinks. Is it possible that all have some feelings released into them? the negative emotions- anger, sadness, disappointment, depression, jealousy, lust, greed and others?

Babughat

Took this picture while I was travelling across the Ganga on a lunch from Howrah Station. A panoramic view of the river where everything happens (bathing, cleaning, travelling, immersion & rituals)

Howrah Bridge

The symbol of Kolkata- which is crossed by lakhs of poeple on foot, wheels and on the wings of hope. Now, also shot through camera for TV serials, ads, movies and music videos.

this can also be viewed inverted!

No I am serious. Try inverting it and you will see similar things. the only difference will be the cows who will be walking in air. Took this photo from a moving train.

Congregation

An aerial view of an unlikely, colourful congregation of people having breakfast of paratha and sabji/tarkari behind an abandoned bus stand. Breakfast is always important...

Even cows can cross roads

and we cant... (shame on us). well if we could, them jaywalking would not have existed. the cow looks nice, nah?
The first is colourful washing hung out to dry- have a weakness for bright colours (maybe a consequence of seeing grey smoke always). Black and white/ Black or white/ Black with white- choose!
The last is an anthill
